As tradições e a religiosidade mantinham a coesão deste grupo étnico. No entanto, a Colônia Philippson teve curta duração.

The actuation of the Jewish Colonization Association (JCA) in Rio Grande do Sul: the Philippson Colony - Abstract: Recurrent episodes of hostility and violence against Jewish people, in 19th century Europe, led to the creation of organizations such as the Jewish Colonization Association (JCA), responsible for the very first organized wave of Jewish immigration to Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, in 1904: the Philippson Colony. In this isolated environment was established a shtetl-like society. Tradition and religion kept the unity of this ethnic group. Philippson Colony, however, was short-lived.
