Oholah and Oholibah (Ezekiel 23): what should we do with this text? - Abstract: This is a (re)reading of chapter Ezekiel 23, of the Hebrew Bible, interpreting it in a feminist perspective. It is God who speaks through a mortal, Ezekiel, and her speech presents two sisters also sinful, linking them directly to two cities in the Kingdom of Israel: Oholah is Samaria and Oholibah is Jerusalem. The metaphor implies the transfer of sins of those women prostitutes – who because of that will be severely punished – to the entire city, passing a conception of women in general as potentially prostitutes and idolaters. The (re) interpretation of Ezekiel 23 points to the presence of a certain underlying conception of nature feminine as potentially negative, while the male takes positive value nature and concludes by showing, based on Isaiah 66.10-14, the possibility of a different way of treatment of women, even within the biblical text
