Dossier: “Latin America and the international scene: changes, dilemmas and challenges”

2023-02-07

AUSTRAL: Brazilian Journal of Strategy and International Relations invites researchers to submit articles for the dossier “Latin America and the international scene: changes, dilemmas and challenges”, with publication scheduled for August 2023.

The current configuration of the axes of world power has several repercussions in Latin America, with emphasis on factors such as the rise of China and the geopolitical dispute with the United States; the role of the European Union in its relationship with Mercosur; the US presence in the Pacific region; and the part of countries such as Russia and India. In turn, amid the resonances of the Covid-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine, the rise of progressive governments in the seven most populous countries in the region – Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Peru, Venezuela and Chile – draws particular attention to the new types of strategies, national and regional, and for the margins of manoeuvre pursued by them in matters of external insertion, development and security and defence, fundamentally, as well as the social interests and spaces of dispute around these strategies.

Faced with these questions, AUSTRAL: Brazilian Journal of Strategy and International Relations proposes the realization of critical efforts around the proposed thematic dossier.

Contributions must consist of original and unpublished texts written in English and the deadline for submission is May 7, 2023.
