Abstract

Part of my researchs on modern art deals with situations of interchange and disturbances in the artistic career of women, who, for reasons of structural misogyny, ended up experiencing experiences not only of impediments, but also of severe types of traumas. This essay examines the context of the female artist impacted by traumatic events and violence imposed in a patriarchal society. My position is in the order of the challenge of powers, even if it can offer reparation and historical integration. After some specific analyses, I will present the artist Leonora Carrington as a case of redemption, self-awareness, self-repair and mastery through the belief and support of her artistic practices.
